Lim Yan Xin is a Singaporean singer-songwriter, performer and vocal instructor with experience across music, musical theatre and live performance. With a strong foundation in both pop vocals and musical theatre, she brings an engaging, encouraging and practical approach to every lesson.
 

Education & Musical Training

  • Associate of the London College of Music (ALCM) in Pop Vocals, with Distinction

  • Associate of the London College of Music (ALCM) in Musical Theatre, with Merit

  • ABRSM Piano Grade 8

  • ABRSM Classical Vocal Grade 5, with Distinction

  • ABRSM Theory Grade 5

  • Completed the Ocean Butterflies Music Career Programme

  • Completed Protools Course at LASALLE Short Courses
     

Professional Experience

  • Senior Instructor, Lee Wei Song Music Academy

  • Private freelance piano and vocal instructor since 2019

  • Instructor at Singapore Institute of Management, where she designed and conducted vocal lessons and prepared students for performances and evaluations

  • Trained under instructors at Lee Wei Song School of Music

  • Teaches students from preschool level to O-Level Music Elective Programme level

  • Performed as narrator and lead singer in the musical The Wedding

  • Participated in regional vocal competition The Voice

  • Top 10 finalist of the nationwide SingVoice singer-songwriter competition, held with Warner Music Singapore

  • Released original single 《女王驾到》 (The Queen’s Reign) and received the Best Artist Image Award

  • Top 10 finalist of SPOP Sing! 2018, a nationwide singing competition

  • Champion of 新空下冠军 2016, and performed at venues including The Star Vista

  • Featured in Channel 8 productions, including Your World We Understand and Guardian Angel

  • Lyricist for the theme song and insert song of Channel 8’s Guardian Angel
     

Teaching Approach

Yan Xin believes that music lessons should be both structured and enjoyable. Her classes combine solid vocal foundations with interactive learning, helping students build technique, confidence and a genuine connection to music. She supports each student according to their individual interests, ability and goals.
